Madrassa teacher held for raping minor in J&K’s Doda | India News
JAMMU: A madrassa teacher was arrested for allegedly raping a minor in J&K’s Doda district on Monday.The alleged crime occurred at a madrassa in Doda’s Gandoh area. Police caught the accused within three hours of receiving the complaint and booked him under relevant sections of the Pocso Act and BNS.“The accused, a resident of Pingal, had fled after the crime. On directions of Doda SSP Sandeep Mehta, a special team led by I/C PP Khara was constituted under the supervision of SDPO Gandoh, and SHO Gandoh immediately launched an investigation, securing vital leads on the suspect,” a police spokesperson said.“Intelligence inputs and effective teamwork led to the swift arrest of the accused,” the spokesperson said. The minor’s medical examination was conducted at GMC Doda, and other legal proceedings were carried out. “Further investigation was underway,” the spokesperson added.
