2025 MG Comet EV launched in India: New variants, features and more

JSW MG Motor India has launched the updated 2025 MG Comet EV in the Indian market. The new model gets new features and variants have been rejigged. Interested customers can book the 2025 Comet online or by visiting their nearest dealership, deliveries are expected to begin soon. The price for the EV starts from Rs 4.99 lakh, with the option of Battery-as-a-Service at ₹2.5 per kilometers. The battery subscription plan lowers the initial cost of the Comet EV by allowing you to buy the vehicle separately from the battery pack. Instead of owning the battery, you pay a usage-based fee of Rs 2.5 per kilometre driven under this plan.

2025 MG Comet

The 2025 MG Comet EV is offered in five variants: Executive, Excite, Excite Fast Charge, Exclusive, and Exclusive Fast Charge. The Excite and Excite Fast Charge models now have a rear parking camera and power-folding ORVMs. The Exclusive and Exclusive Fast Charge trims feature leatherette seats and a four-speaker audio system.

Feature highlights include dual 10.25-inch screens – one for infotainment and another for instrumentation, wireless Android Auto, Apple CarPlay connectivity, connected car tech, manual AC, rotary drive selector, keyless entry, steering-mounted controls, over 55 connected car features and more. Safety-wise, it gets ABS, EBD, tyre pressure monitoring system, reverse camera and sensors, dual front airbags, electronic parking brake, electronic stability control (ESC), ISOFIX child seat mounts, all four disc brakes, and hill-hold assist.

Talking about the battery and e-motor, it gets a 17.3kWh battery pack paired to a single electric motor which puts out 42hp of power and 110Nm of torque, which sends power to the rear wheels. The battery is IP67-rated for water and dust resistance and gets an ARAI-certified range of 230km. The company recently also launched the Comet Blackstorm edition priced from Rs 7.80 lakh with Baas. This edition features a Starry Black exterior shade with dark chrome, black badges and red accents. Moving inside, it also gets leatherette seats with Blackstorm embroidery. The 2025 Comet EV comes with the MG e-Shield program, offering a vehicle warranty of 3 years or up to 1 lakh km, along with 3 years of roadside assistance and three complimentary labour services for scheduled maintenance. Additionally, the battery pack is backed by an 8-year or 1.2 lakh km warranty.
