India vs Australia: Virat Kohli & Rohit Sharma rewrite history at SCG

Rohit joins an elite group of Indian cricketers who have achieved the world No. 1 ODI batting ranking. He becomes the fifth Indian player to reach this milestone, following in the footsteps of Sachin Tendulkar, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Virat Kohli, and Shubman Gill. The veteran batter’s rating points increased significantly from his previous week’s total of 745 points due to these two substantial innings. The rankings update also saw significant movement for other India batters. Gill dropped to third position following a disappointing series where he could only manage scores of 10, 9, and 24 runs across the three matches.Virat Kohli, another prominent figure in Indian cricket, maintained his fifth position in the rankings despite a mixed series. After registering ducks in the first two matches, Kohli bounced back with an unbeaten 74 runs from 81 balls in the final game at SCG. His rating points increased from 724 to 730 following this performance.
