Vaibhav Suryavanshi took his big-hitting skills to the domestic cricket on Wednesday with a brief, but rapid-fire, knock for Bihar. The left-handed batter who captured everyone’s attention during the IPL and then in the junior matches for India, scored 14 runs from just five balls against Arunachal Pradesh on Day 1 of the Ranji Trophy Plate match at the Moin Ul Haq Stadium in Patna.Suryavanshi struck two fours and a six before perishing to medium pacer Yab Niya. Suryavanshi had started the onslaught with two boundaries and a six towards the leg side region before eventually being bowled and allowing the 30-year-old Niya to have the last laugh.Earlier in the day, Arunachal Pradesh had won the toss and decided to bat. They were bowled out for 156 runs with four batters reaching double digits as they mustered just 105 runs including 16 extras. Sakib Hussain was the pick of the Bihar bowlers with figures of 6/41 and Amod Yadav plucked 2/21.The 14-year-old had come into the Ranji Trophy competition on the back of a rich vein of form. After becoming the youngest player and centurion in IPL history, he scored 262 runs in three Youth ODIs vs England, 90 in the two Tests, 114 in three ODIs vs Australia U19 followed by 133 runs in the two Youth Tests.
