IIM Bangalore placements 2026: 601 students placed across 137 firms; here’s who is leading the sectors and recruiters race

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore has successfully concluded the Summer Placement process for the Post Graduate Programme (PGP) and Post Graduate Programme in Business Analytics (PGP-BA) 2025-27 batch. According to the institute, all 601 participating students received internship offers from 137 organisations during the placement week, held from October 13 to 18, 2025. The cohort, the largest among all IIMs, secured positions across domains such as Consulting, Finance, Product Management, Sales and Marketing, General Management, and Analytics.
Consulting dominates, new entrants join the fray
Management Consulting retained its position as the dominant sector, accounting for 46% of total offers, up from 38% last year. Twenty-three firms collectively extended 282 offers in this domain. Leading recruiters included Accenture Strategy, which made 132 offers, followed by Boston Consulting Group (24), Bain & Company (18), and Tata Consultancy Services (15). Other notable participants were McKinsey & Company (13), Kearney (12), EY Parthenon India (11), and Alvarez & Marsal (10). Nearly 30% of the organisations participating were first-time recruiters, reflecting growing industry engagement, according to the institute.
Growth in Finance, E-commerce, and Healthcare
The Finance, Banking, and Investment sector witnessed 35 firms making 86 offers. Goldman Sachs led the domain with 10 offers, followed by HSBC (7), Citibank (5), and Avendus Capital (4). In the E-commerce, Payments, Telecom, and Entertainment sectors, 15 organisations extended 55 offers, with American Express (14) and Amazon (11) at the forefront.Healthcare and Education sectors also saw a notable increase, with nine firms offering 23 internships, a rise of over 70% compared to the previous year. Key recruiters in this segment included Sun Pharma (5), Haleon (4), and Medtronic (3).
Participation across diverse domains
Other sectors represented included IT/Analytics/Product Management, FMCG/Retail, Manufacturing/Construction/Energy/Infrastructure, and Conglomerates. Top recruiters in IT and Analytics included Sprinklr, Adobe, Booking Holdings, and World Wide Technology, while FMCG saw participation from Hindustan Unilever, Amul, ITC, and The Coca-Cola Company. The Manufacturing and Energy sector included Tata Steel, ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India, and Saint-Gobain. Large conglomerates such as Reliance, Aditya Birla Group, Tata Administrative Services, and Vedanta maintained strong hiring numbers.

Following the completion of the placement cycle, IIM Bangalore has opened applications for its undergraduate programme: BSc (Hons) in Data Science and Economics, for the 2026 intake.
