The Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test (KARTET) 2025 notification has been officially released by the Department of School Education, Karnataka. This exam is a mandatory requirement for candidates aspiring to teach in classes 1 to 8 in government, aided, and private schools across the state. KARTET serves as a benchmark to ensure that teachers meet the minimum standards of teaching competence. The online application process for KARTET 2025 will start on October 23, 2025, and close on November 9, 2025, while the examination is scheduled for December 7, 2025. Candidates must carefully check eligibility criteria, exam patterns, and application procedures to secure their chance to qualify and obtain a valid teaching certificate.

Eligibility criteria

Candidates must ensure they meet the minimum educational criteria before applying. Check paper-wise requirements below:Paper I (Classes 1–5):

  • Senior Secondary (50% marks) + 2-year D.El.Ed / 4-year B.El.Ed
  • Graduation (50% marks) + 2-year D.El.Ed
  • Other equivalent qualifications in education

Paper II (Classes 6–8):

  • Graduation (50% marks) + 1-year B.Ed / 4-year B.El.Ed / 4-year B.A.Ed / B.Sc.Ed
  • Graduation (50% marks) + 1-year B.Ed (Special Education)

How to apply online

Once the application window opens on October 23, candidates who are eligible for KARTET will be able to apply by following the steps below:

  1. Visit the official website
  2. Click on ‘KARTET Apply Online’
  3. Register as a new user
  4. Fill out the application form
  5. Upload scanned documents
  6. Pay the application fee
  7. Submit and save the confirmation page

KARTET results and certificates

The KARTET 2025 results will be announced online on the official portal. Candidates who qualify the exam can download their digitally signed certificates within four weeks of the result declaration. These certificates are valid for life and are mandatory for applying to teaching positions in government, aided, and private schools across Karnataka. Since the examination is OMR-based and evaluated through computer systems, requests for re-evaluation or recounting of marks are not permitted.
