NEET UG counselling 2025: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has extended the deadline for choice filling and locking for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2025 stray vacancy round. The decision comes after the release of the final seat matrix, which revealed 1,232 Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) seats remaining vacant under the All India Quota (AIQ) following several seat additions and reductions across medical colleges.As per the latest update, candidates can now submit and lock their choices of courses and colleges until 11:55 pm on 12 November, 2025 through the official website, mcc.nic.in.According to the final stray vacancy seat matrix, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Uttar Pradesh have reported the highest number of unfilled MBBS seats under the All India Quota.
PwD certificate generation deadline extended
In line with the revised schedule, the MCC has also extended the deadline for generating Persons with Disability (PwD) certificates through the designated portal. Candidates seeking admission under the PwD category can now obtain their certificates from MCC-authorised disability centres until 5 pm on 12 November, 2025, in accordance with the National Medical Commission (NMC) norms.
Allotment results likely to be delayed
The NEET UG stray vacancy allotment results, originally expected to be published today, 12 November, 2025, are now likely to be declared on a later date following the extension of the choice filling window. The MCC has also made available the list of candidates admitted up to round three on its official website.
Instructions for NRI candidates
Candidates applying under the Non-Resident Indian (NRI) category were instructed to submit relevant documents via email at ug.nri.mcc@gmail.com by 2 pm on 11 November, 2025. MCC has clarified that fresh registration and choice filling are mandatory for all participants in the stray vacancy round.
Revised state counselling schedules
Several state counselling authorities have adjusted their NEET UG 2025 counselling timelines to align with MCC’s updated schedule. State-level seat allotments will be published only after the completion of the AIQ stray vacancy allotment process.

- Click ‘Lock Choices’ and confirm the submission before 11:55 pm on 12 November, 2025.
- Download and print the confirmation page for future reference.
