JEE Main 2026 exam structure and syllabus
JEE Main 2026 comprises two papers:
- Paper 1 for Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) and Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) admissions, and for eligibility to appear in JEE Advanced.
- Paper 2 for Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) and Bachelor of Planning (B.Planning) admissions.
The syllabus follows the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) curriculum for Classes 11 and 12. Paper 1 covers Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The marking scheme awards +4 marks for every correct response, deducts 1 mark for incorrect answers, and carries no negative marking for unattempted questions. This applies to both Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and Numerical Value Questions (NVQs).With the deadline only hours away, candidates are advised to complete the registration process to avoid any last-minute submissions, as the NTA maintains strict cut-off timings. Missing today’s deadline would require waiting for the second session in April 2026, which may impact admission timelines.
