However, Smriti’s brother Shravan Mandhana has now firmly shut down the reports.
Speaking to Hindustan Times, Shravan addressed the swirling chatter head-on. “I have no idea about these rumours. As of now, it (the wedding) is still postponed,” he said, dismissing the December 7 claims and making it clear that no fresh date has been finalised.The rumour mill intensified after fans noticed that Smriti had deleted all wedding-related posts from her Instagram account following the postponement — though casual photos with Palash remain. With no official communication from either family, the speculative frenzy only grew.Meanwhile, Palash’s mother Amita Muchhal had earlier shared that both families are still recovering from the emotional shock of the disrupted ceremony. She revealed that Palash had dreamt of bringing his bride home and that she had even planned a special welcome. Despite the heartbreak, she expressed optimism: “Everything will be fine, shaadi bohot jaldi hogi.”The situation has also drawn heartfelt support from the cricketing community. Veteran actor Suniel Shetty lauded Jemimah Rodrigues for withdrawing from the WBBL to stand by Smriti, calling it “the purest form of friendship.”
