Despite a disappointing start to their ODI series in Australia, Team India’s morale remains high as players took time off the field to celebrate Diwali together in Adelaide.Ahead of the second ODI against Australia at Adelaide Oval, the Indian squad visited the British Raj restaurant in Torrensville, which is hardly 10 minutes from the stadium where they’ll play a must-win game. Viral videos on X showed players interacting with fans and posing for photos as they arrived at the venue. The restaurant owner, speaking to reporters, said he prepares meals for the Indian team whenever they tour Adelaide and makes the food in a “home style” for them, rather than a generic restaurant experience. The team’s visit was specifically to celebrate the festival. The owner also revealed some insights about the players, saying “Kohli’s favourite ground is the Adelaide Oval, so watch out for him tomorrow.” When asked about his personal favourite among the stars, he named Rohit Sharma ahead of Sachin Tendulkar and Kohli. Such outings not only provided a sense of comfort away from home but also allowed the team to bond and regroup after the first ODI in Perth, which Australia won by seven wickets. The Indian team has a notable history with the British Raj. They dined there ahead of the 2022 T20 World Cup semifinal against England, a match that ended in a heavy 10-wicket loss, making Adelaide a tricky venue for the Men in Blue in recent years.
