BSEB Bihar Class 10 board exams 2026 from tomorrow: Check entry timing, dress code and important guidelines
BSEBBihar Class 10 board exams: The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) will begin the Class 10 board examinations from tomorrow, February 17, 2026. The exams will continue till February 25, 2026, and will be conducted in two shifts across the state.This year, around 15.12 lakh students will appear for the examination at 1,699 centres. Out of the total 15,12,687 candidates, 7,85,722 are girls and 7,26,961 are boys, according to the official data.BSEB Chairman Anand Kishore has directed all district officials and police authorities to ensure the exams are conducted in a peaceful and malpractice-free manner, with strict monitoring at all centres.
Exam schedule and shift details
The examination will be held daily in two shifts:First shift:
- 7,58,633 candidates
- 3,93,890 girls
- 3,64,743 boys
Second shift:
- 7,54,054 candidates
- 3,91,836 girls
- 3,62,218 boys
In Patna district alone, 70 centres have been set up for 71,022 students.
Zero tolerance against malpractice
The Board has announced a zero tolerance policy. Any attempt to disturb the fairness of the examination will lead to strict action.
- Forced or illegal entry into the exam centre will be treated as misconduct.
- Such candidates can be expelled for two years, and a First Information Report (FIR) may be filed.
- Officials found helping such actions will face suspension and legal action.
Entry timing rules
- Students must reach the exam centre at least one hour before the exam begins.
- The main gate will be closed 30 minutes before the start of the exam.
- Late entry will not be allowed.
Items allowed inside the exam hall
Candidates must carry only:
- Valid admit card
- Pen, pencil, and basic stationery
- Instrument box
No unauthorised papers, devices, or gadgets are allowed. Each candidate has been given a Unique ID, printed on the admit card.Footwear ruleStudents are not allowed to wear shoes and socks, following last year’s rule. However, in special weather conditions, limited relaxation may be allowed. Normally, only simple footwear without thick soles is permitted.
What if a student forgets the admit card?
If a candidate forgets or loses the admit card:
- They may get provisional permission to write the exam.
- Identity will be verified through the photograph available in the attendance sheet and roll records.
Special provisions for disabled candidates
A writer (scribe) will be provided if required and an extra time of 20 minutes per hour will be given.
Two-level frisking for security
Students will undergo checking at two stages:
- At the main gate by magistrates and police personnel
- Inside the exam hall by invigilators
One invigilator will supervise every 25 students and must certify that all candidates have been checked.
Strict ban on electronic devices
The following items are completely prohibited:
- Mobile phones
- Bluetooth devices
- Smartwatches or electronic watches
- Pagers or any electronic gadgets
CCTV cameras and videography arrangements have been installed at every centre for monitoring.Instructions for staff: Teachers and staff on duty are allowed to carry only exam-related documents. They are strictly prohibited from using mobile phones inside the premises.
