In the women’s competition, Cercle d’échecs de Monte-Carlo won the 29th European Club Cup Women after drawing with Turkish Airlines sports club. They finished with an impressive 13/14 points.Sirmium Sremska Mitrovica, despite losing to SuperChess 1.5-2.5, secured the second position. The reigning champion Tajfun SK Ljubljana drew against CE Gambit Bonnevoie to finish third.The tournament proved particularly successful for Indian players. World Champion GM D Gukesh represented SuperChess in Open, while Women’s World Cup winner GM Divya Deshmukh played for Cercle d’échecs de Monte-Carlo.In the Open section’s final round, World Champion GM D Gukesh drew against GM Vladimir Fedoseev, both rated at 2752. GM Alexey Sarana and GM Bogdan-Daniel Deac secured vital victories for SuperChess.Individual achievements were notable in the Open section.
