CLAT 2026 provisional answer key releasing today: Check when and how to download response sheets here
The Consortium of National Law Universities (CNLUs) will release the provisional answer key for CLAT 2026 today, 10 December 2025, at 5:00 PM on its official website, giving candidates their first official opportunity to evaluate their performance. Alongside the answer key, the Consortium will also publish individual response sheets, enabling applicants to calculate estimated scores ahead of the objection window. The national-level entrance examination for admissions to NLUs was conducted earlier on 7 December 2025 across 156 centres in 25 States, 93 cities, and 4 Union Territories. CLAT 2026 registered more than 92,000 applicants this year, marking a significant 17 percent rise in registrations and reinforcing the continued demand for premier law programmes in India.
CLAT 2026 overview
According to the Consortium’s official press release, CLAT 2026 received 92,344 applications, including 75,009 for UG and 17,335 for PG programmes. The male–female ratio stood at 0.72:1. Attendance was notably high, with 96.83 percent of UG and 92.45 percent of PG registered candidates appearing for the test.The exam also saw participation from 548 candidates under the PwD category. To ensure fairness and accessibility, the Consortium appointed a dedicated Nodal Officer to oversee PwD arrangements, ensure reasonable accommodations, and provide personalised assistance where required. These measures contributed to a more inclusive and supportive examination environment nationwide.
CLAT 2026 provisional answer key details
The provisional answer key for CLAT 2026 will be released at 5:00 PM today, providing candidates with the first official reference point to assess their performance. Once the key is published on the Consortium’s website, candidates will be able to:
- Download the UG and PG provisional answer key PDFs for all question booklets, enabling a question-by-question comparison.
- Access their individual response sheets, which will display the exact options selected during the examination held on 7 December.
- Evaluate their probable scores by applying the official marking scheme, helping them gauge their expected rank range before the final results.
How to download CLAT 2026 answer key
Candidates can access the CLAT 2026 provisional answer key and their response sheets directly from the Consortium’s official website. The steps are as follows:

- Click on the ‘CLAT 2026’ section available on the homepage.
- Select the link titled ‘Provisional Answer Key – CLAT 2026 (UG/PG)’.
- Log in to the candidate portal using your registered mobile number and password.
- Once logged in, you will find separate links to:

- Access your individual response sheet
Candidates are advised to download the PDFs immediately after release to avoid last-minute website congestion and ensure sufficient time for review before the objection window closes on 12 December at 5:00 PM.
Objection window details
Candidates who wish to challenge questions or the provisional answer key may submit objections through the designated portal. The timeline is as follows:
- Opening: December 10 at 5:00 PM
- Closing: December 12 at 5:00 PM
Submissions beyond the deadline will not be accepted.
