Gaurav Gera has been a part of the entertainment world for decades. One of his most popular works is ‘Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi,’ starring Mona Singh. He is also known for making short comedy reels, where he plays different characters like ‘Shopkeeper,’ ‘Chutki, ’ and more. In the 2025 release ‘Dhurandhar,’ Gaurav played the role of an Indian spy. He was disguised as a juice seller and was helping Ranveer Singh in his mission. Gaurave underwent a major transformation to portray his character in the action thriller and was almost unrecognisable in the film.Recently, taking to social media, Gaurav thanked Mukesh Chabra for selecting him for the role. He wrote, “Have always respected @castingchhabra work for years, so getting to collaborate with him on Aalam in #Dhurandhar meant a lot. Given my past roles, this wasn’t the predictable casting ..which makes the trust from @adityadharfilms and @castingchhabra Mukesh Chhabra all the more meaningful. Farah Khan confesses she couldn’t recognise Gaurav Gera in Dhurandhar
As the post went viral, comments started flooding in. One of the top comments was from filmmaker Farah Khan, who wrote, “I swear I didn’t recognise u for the whole film.. only when Mukesh asked me how was Gaurav?? N that’s the highest compliment for an artist.”Kiku Sharda also praised the actor and penned, “You were just brilliant GG Keep shining brother.” Several other celebrities like Mukti Mohan, Tahira Kashyap and more echoed similar sentiments. As aforementioned, Gaurav Gera played the role of an Indian spy. His character was of a middle-aged man, Mohammad Aalam, disguised as a juice vendor in the Lyari market. His mission was to guide Ranveer Singh’s character, Hamza Ali Mazari, in entering into the core circle of Akshaye Khanna’s gang.
