Ranjane moved to the United States in 2022 and made an immediate mark, helping the Seattle Thunderbolts lift the MiLC title with his all-round performances. The 31-year-old big-hitter, who can also bowl reliable medium pace, played for the Seattle Orcas in MLC-2024, before he was picked up as the No 1 draft pick by the Texas Super Kings. Repaying that faith in him, Ranjane, batting in the middle-order, scored 268 runs in 11 matches@67.00, with two fifties, at a strike rate of 160.47 in MLC-2025. Ranjane’s selection in the USA rounds off an extraordinary six months in which his stock has risen rapidly, has he has also secured deals in the SA20, where he earned a contract with the Joburg Super Kings, and ILT20 league (Sharjah Warriorz). Incidentally, both Netravalkar and Harmeet will be his teammates in the US team as well as at the Sharjah Warriorz. Ranjane is proudly carrying a rich family legacy-he is the third cricketer from the third generation of the Ranjane family. His grandfather Vasant Ranjane played seven Tests for India between 1958 and 1964, while his father Subhash Ranjane was a former Maharashtra fast bowler who played for India A too. Ranjane made his first-class debut for Mumbai against Gujarat (Parthiv Patel was the Gujarat captain and their side included Jasprit Bumrah) in Nov 2016. He has played 15 first-class matches, scoring 595 runs@31.31, and taking 12 wickets@37.83, including a five-wicket haul. Also in the US squad is former Delhi batter Milind Kumar, who moved to the US in 2021 and is Ranjane’s teammate at the Texas Super Kings in MLC. USA are currently placed at the No 2 spot on the ICC WCL 2 table. While the team will look to build on its impressive show in the 2024 T20 World Cup in the US & West Indie, cricket in the US is currently a cloud of administrative chaos with USA Cricket suspended by the ICC.Squad: Monank Patel (c), Jessy Singh (vc), Saurabh Netravalkar, Rushil Ugarkar, Nosthush Kenjige, Milind Kumar, Smit Patel, Shayan Jahangir, Juanoy Drysdale, Sanjay Krishnamurthi, Harmeet Singh, Yasir Mohammad, Saiteja Mukkamalla, Shubham Ranjane, Andries Gous.
