International Cricket Council (ICC) Chairman Jay Shah met His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, during the Dubai-India Business Forum held in Mumbai. The high-profile meeting marked a significant moment in strengthening cricketing ties between India and the UAE.
In a special gesture, Jay Shah introduced Indian cricket stars Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, and Suryakumar Yadav to the Dubai Crown Prince. The players took time off from their Indian Premier League (IPL) duties with Mumbai Indians to participate in the meeting.

Expressing his thoughts, Jay Shah wrote in a social media post, “Delighted to help connect cricket with visionary leadership in Mumbai where it was a true honour to meet His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum with cricket icons Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, and Suryakumar Yadav. At the ICC, we remain steadfast in our commitment to elevate cricket globally and to forge partnerships that resonate with diverse audiences. The interaction not only symbolised the diplomatic camaraderie but also reaffirmed the ICC’s global mission to build relationships beyond the boundary.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians continue to struggle in the 2025 IPL season. Their latest outing saw a 12-run defeat against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at Wankhede Stadium — MI’s first home loss to RCB in a decade.
With four losses in five matches, MI currently sit eighth on the points table with only two points, tied with CSK and SRH. Their only win this season has come against KKR.
