The Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) has released the much-awaited Polytechnic Lecturer Notification 2026 on 13 February 2026 at its official website, jpsc.gov.in. The recruitment drive announces 349 regular vacancies along with 6 backlog posts, taking the total number of positions to 355.The recruitment process is conducted to fill the lecturer posts in Government Polytechnics and Government Women’s Polytechnics, which come under the Department of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Jharkhand. The online application process will start from 20 February 2026 and will continue until 12 March 2026, while the last date for fee submission is 14 March 2026.Key Dates and OverviewAccording to the notification, candidates must be between 21 and 40 years of age to apply. The department of Computer Science & Engineering tops the list with 66 vacancies, followed by Electrical Engineering 45 vacancies, Mechanical Engineering 43 vacancies, Civil Engineering 40 vacancies, Mathematics 30 vacancies, and Chemistry 21 vacancies.Other disciplines’ vacancies consist of 18 vacancies in Electronics & Communication Engineering, 14 vacancies in Physics, 18 vacancies in English, 8 vacancies in Mining Engineering, 5 vacancies in Metallurgical Engineering, and other specialized branches such as Automobile Engineering and Interior Design.The reservation policy is that of Jharkhand Government regulations and includes vertical and horizontal reservations for women, sports quota, and persons with disabilities.Eligibility CriteriaFor Engineering and Technology disciplines at Level 9 (‘A’), the candidate should have a B.E./B.Tech./B.S. degree in the pertinent field with First Class or equivalent. For Science and Humanities, a Master’s degree with First Class is required.Under Level 10, Engineering candidates must hold both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees with First Class in either qualification. For Science and Humanities, candidates must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the University Grants Commission (UGC) or Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), or an equivalent accredited test.Selection Procedure and EmolumentThe selection procedure involves screening of academic credentials, research background, knowledge in the subject (written test or GATE/NET/SET score), and an interview carrying 20 marks.The written test, if applicable, will comprise 100 objective-type questions to be answered in two hours. The minimum qualifying marks differ according to categories.Shortlisted candidates will be appointed on Pay Level 9A with a basic pay of Rs. 56,100 per month and a pay scale of Rs. 56,100 to Rs. 1,77,500, along with admissible allowances. The position is categorized as Group-B Gazetted.Applicants are advised to register for OTR without delay to avoid last-minute problems.
