Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 launched in India at Rs 4.2 crores: Sportiest Maybach ever!

Mercedes-Benz India has launched the new Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series in the Indian market. Only three units of SL Maybach are allocated for this year and the customer consultation has already begun and the deliveries will begin from Q1 2026. Unveiled in 2024, the luxury roadster is hailed as the most dynamic Maybach ever created and Mercedes says that this open-top two-seater combines the iconic silhouette of the SL with the unmistakable excellence of Mercedes-Maybach, setting a new benchmark in open-air luxury motoring.

The Maybach SL 680 is based on the standard SL 63 Roadster. It enhances the aggressive styling of the standard model with signature Maybach design elements. It gets an illuminated vertical-slat sleek front grille with chrome accents everywhere and MAYBACH lettering. The Obsidian Black bonnet is adorned with Maybach logos. As part of the customization program, buyers can opt to have these logos embossed into the soft-top fabric roof.
At the sides, the luxury car features 21-inch forged wheels with 36 slender spokes converging at the iconic three-pointed star in the centre. A refined chrome strip elegantly stretches along the body between the wheels, complementing the chrome accents on the door handles and front fenders. At the rear, a streamlined bumper with subtle chrome detailing presents a more understated look compared to the SL roadster.

Moving inside, the SL 680 has the same dashboard layout as the standard model, but here it gets dashboard and seats finished in white Nappa leather. It gets a satin silver finish on the AC vents, a new three-spoke steering wheel, and Maybach logos on the roll hoops. Features-wise it gets a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 11.9-inch central touchscreen infotainment with Mercedes’ AI-powered MBUX multimedia system for an intuitive user experience.
Talking about the powertrain, it’s the same as the SL 63 but is tuned to produce more power. It gets a 4.0-litre, twin-turbo V8 that puts out 585hp of power and 800Nm of torque. It comes paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission which sends power to all four wheels. It can sprint from 0 to 100 kph in just 4.1 seconds. The exhaust system has been refined to minimize cabin noise, and the suspension has been optimized to enhance ride comfort.
