Mohsin Naqvi stays adamant about ceremony for Asia Cup trophy presentation; ACC informs BCCI of the date | Cricket News

The impasse over the Asia Cup trophy — which India had refused to accept at last month’s closing ceremony amid tensions with Pakistan — continues, with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) reportedly reaching out to Asian Cricket Council (ACC) chairman Mohsin Naqvi to arrange the handover.Naqvi, who also serves as the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, told reporters in Karachi that the ACC has informed the BCCI that a formal ceremony will be held in Dubai on November 10 to present India with the trophy.
The Dawn has reported that Naqvi, as ACC chief, is determined to personally hand over the trophy, following the chaotic scenes that unfolded after last month’s final between Pakistan and India.According to multiple reports, the dates Naqvi has suggested is November 10.“There was a series of letters exchanged with the BCCI, and the ACC has conveyed to them that we are ready to host Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav and his players, along with BCCI official Rajiv Shukla, to receive the trophy in a ceremony on November 10 in Dubai,” Naqvi told the media in Karachi.“The ACC has written to the BCCI that a ceremony can be held in Dubai on November 10. Bring your captain and players and receive the trophy from me,” said Naqvi. The BCCI is reportedly considering raising this matter at upcoming International Cricket Council (ICC) and ACC meetings. The ICC Board meeting is scheduled in Dubai from November 4–7.The ICC is headed by former BCCI secretary Jay Shah.
