The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has issued a critical advisory for NEET PG 2026 candidates seeking to revise their category status from Indian to Non-Resident Indian (NRI), in line with the directions of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India. This follows the landmark judgment in W.P. (C) No.689/2017 – Consortium of Deemed Universities in Karnataka (CODEUNIK) & Anr. Vs. Union of India & Ors., dated 22 August 2017.Candidates intending to claim NRI status must submit all relevant supporting documents exclusively via email at nri.adgmemcc1@gmail.com. The submission window is strictly set from 11:00 AM on 1 December 2025 to 08:00 AM on 3 December 2025. Emails received outside this timeframe will be summarily rejected. MCC has emphasized that all documents must be enclosed in a single email, ensuring complete submission for processing.
Mandatory compliance with documentation
The advisory underlines that only those candidates who furnish the documents as prescribed by the MCC will be considered for a category change. Partial submissions or documents sent in multiple emails will not be entertained.
