New Bihar cabinet: NDA begins final talks on power-sharing; government will be formed before November 22, says Chirag Paswan

NEW DELHI: NDA is moving quickly to form the next government in Bihar after its sweeping victory in the Assembly polls, with Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan confirming that the process will be completed before November 22.“It will be done soon. Discussions are going on. A sense of clarity will come on the blueprint of the government. I think by tonight, I will also speak with senior Union ministers, and the blueprint will be ready by today or tomorrow. We have to form the government before 22nd November. It will be done,” Paswan told reporters.His statement comes as alliance partners work out the details of the new administration ahead of the current Assembly’s term ending on November 22, 2025.The NDA secured a commanding majority with 202 seats in the 243-member House. The BJP led the tally with 89 seats, followed closely by the Janata Dal (United) with 85. Other allies also made strong gains: the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) won 19 seats, the Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) bagged five, and the Rashtriya Lok Morcha won four.In contrast, the RJD-led Mahagathbandhan managed only 35 seats. The RJD won 25, Congress six, CPI(ML)(L) two, the Indian Inclusive Party one, and CPI(M) one. Jan Suraaj, despite an extensive campaign by its founder Prashant Kishor, failed to win any seat.Beyond the main alliances, AIMIM secured five seats, and the Bahujan Samaj Party won one.
