Djokovic entered the tournament with 409 Masters 1000 wins, just one behind Nadal, and equalled the record after defeating Rinki Hijikata in the opening round.

The Serbian tennis star holds numerous Masters 1000 records, including most titles (40), finals (59), and semi-finals (78), and has now added the most match wins to his impressive collection.
“I’m honoured to have another milestone, another record broken. There’s always something on the line pretty much every time I play, and of course that motivates me to do well at tournaments,” said Djokovic.
Djokovic’s journey in Masters 1000 events began nearly two decades ago, with his first victory coming against Victor Hanescu in Paris 2005.

The 37-year-old secured his first Masters 1000 title in Miami in 2007 and made history in 2018 by becoming the only player to win all nine Masters 1000 events.
By 2020, he had won each tournament at least twice, building an impressive record of 411-91 at Masters 1000 events.
Djokovic, who aims to win his seventh Miami Open title and surpass Andre Agassi’s record, will face 15th-seeded Italian Lorenzo Musetti in the round of 16.
The Serb is pursuing his first Masters 1000 title since his victory in Paris 2023.
