Rajasthan Governor calls for integration of technology and human values to drive India’s growth at RTU convocation
KOTA: Governor Haribhau Bagde, on Tuesday, encouraged students and youth to combine technological advancements with human values to help India become a global leader. Speaking at the 14th convocation ceremony of Rajasthan Technical University (RTU) at the Kota Development Authority Auditorium, Bagde conferred degrees and awards to outstanding students..
A total of 9,521 degrees were awarded at the event, including one Chancellor’s Gold Medal, one Vice Chancellor’s Gold Medal, 20 gold medals for academic excellence, and 36 PhD degrees.
Bagde congratulated the graduates and stressed the need to expand intellectual capabilities to make India a global powerhouse.
He said that as India nears 100 years of independence in 2047, the youth must strive to ensure the country excels in all fields.
Highlighting the rapid advancements in artificial intelligence, machine learning, the Internet, and robotics, he said knowledge must be used for innovation and entrepreneurship, not just for employment.
The governor also lamented that India’s scientific and technological heritage was presented as its own by European countries.
He praised the National Education Policy (NEP), saying that it focuses on the holistic development of students and will show tangible results in the next 15 years.
Central University of Gujarat Vice Chancellor Professor Rama Shankar Dubey, who was the guest of honor, said that youth have the potential to transform the nation and should move forward with dedication and diligence.
RTU Vice Chancellor Professor S.K. Singh, in his welcome address, said the university has fostered academic excellence by promoting research and innovation in technical education.
He added that RTU is not only strengthening technical education but also contributing to global standards in higher education.
This year, degrees were awarded to 7,487 male and 2,034 female students, with 20 students receiving the gold medals — including 11 male and 9 female students.
