Ayushmann Khurrana recently shared the stage with Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s daughter, Shora, during a special screening of his latest release, Thamma, which received an impressive response over the Diwali weekend. The actor’s candid interaction with Shora quickly became the highlight of the event.

During the screening, Ayushmann asked Shora about her thoughts on the film.Ayushmann: So, how did you find the film?Shora: So good! I loved it. And I loved your character so much!Ayushmann also joked about his on-screen scenes with her father, saying, “Listen, really sorry for beating up your father in the film. I’m a big fan of Nawaz, but it was written in the script, so I had to do it. But he’s a gentleman, a great actor.”He praised Shora for her budding interest in acting, “And I know you also want to act. You act, which is great. A big hand for Shora, ladies and gentlemen. A few days ago, Nawazuddin told Hindustan Times that Thamma holds a special place for him because it is the first film his children, Shora and Yani, can watch.“Mujhe Thamma ke liye excitement isiliye bhi hai kyunki voh world jahaan pe humne shoot kiya hai, voh sirf humne dant kathaaon mein pehle padha tha. And plus, the kind of films I do, kids can’t watch them. Yeh pehli film hai jo mere bachche dekh paayenge!” the 51-year-old said.
About Thamma and its Diwali success
Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and produced under Maddock Films, Thamma released on 21 October 2025 during Diwali. The film stars Ayushmann Khurrana as a timid journalist who encounters a mysterious vampiric being, played by Rashmika Mandanna, set in the myth-filled world of Betals. While part of the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe (MHCU), the film leans more into romance and fantasy than straight horror.The movie opened strongly, marking Ayushmann’s best day-one performance so far. Its success also lays the foundation for Thamma as a potential franchise in the MHCU, which already includes hits like Stree, Bhediya, Munjya, and Stree 2.
