Noida, Ghaziabad, Varanasi schools closed on October 28

Schools across several districts of Uttar Pradesh will remain closed on October 28 for Chhath Puja 2025, the district administration confirmed. The holiday applies to all private and govt schools, including institutions from nursery to Class 12. Parents and students were informed through official circulars and notices issued by the concerned authorities.The Gautam Buddha Nagar district administration shared the circular on Monday evening with all educational institutions, prompting schools in Noida and Ghaziabad to officially announce closures. Delhi NCR schools, however, remain closed only on October 27, which was declared a public holiday by the General Administration Department for the festival.All schools in Noida and Ghaziabad to remain closedMedia reports quoting district officials indicate that “all schools in the district will remain completely closed on October 28 for the festival of Chhath. The District School Inspector should ensure compliance with this order.” The reports add that this directive covers both private and government schools operating in the district.Officials confirmed that the holiday affects schools from nursery to Class 12. Institutions communicated the closures through official social media posts and notices sent to parents, ensuring that students and guardians are aware of the schedule.

Ghaziabad schools closed on October 28

In Varanasi, authorities have completed all preparations for the main bathing and Arghya days of the festival. According to TNN, district officials had allowed classes up to noon on October 27, while schools will remain closed on October 28. Senior officers, including the municipal administration, oversaw cleaning and maintenance of ghats, lighting arrangements, and security deployments.Schools in Noida, Ghaziabad, and Varanasi will observe the Chhath Puja 2025 holiday, while other districts await notifications from local authorities. Parents have been advised to stay updated with official notices from their respective schools for any additional information.Chhath Puja Culminates with Morning Prayers on October 28Chhath Puja, one of the most significant and widely celebrated festivals in Bihar, Jharkhand, and eastern Uttar Pradesh, is being observed this year from October 25 to 28. The four-day celebration began with Nahay-Khaay on October 25, followed by Kharna on October 26, and the Sandhya Arghya, or evening offering to the setting sun, on October 27. The festival will conclude with the Usha Arghya, morning prayers to the rising sun, on October 28, due to which schools in Noida and Ghaziabad have been declared closed, allowing students and families to participate in the festivities.
