Singer Adnan Sami, who was born in Pakistan but became an Indian citizen in 2016, has spoken out in support of ‘Operation Sindoor’. This was a military action by India targeting nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). On X (formerly Twitter), Adnan wrote, “Jai Hind!! #OperationSindoor,” showing his strong backing for the Indian Armed Forces.He also took a dig at Pakistani TV News by putting up a post saying “Pakistani TV News Anchors Right Now!! “AAAAL IS VELLLL !!!”Adnan Sami’s strong words on Pakistan’s armyBefore praising the operation, just a few days ago on May 4, Adnan had shared a story.He said, “Met some very sweet Pakistani boys while walking on the beautiful streets of Baku, Azerbaijan… They said “Sir, You are very lucky.. You left Pakistan in good time.. Actress Kangana Ranaut showed her support for the successful mission by posting on her X handle, “Operation Sindoor: Zero tolerance to terror. The Indian Armed Forces launched a precision mission, Operation Sindoor; 9 terror camps across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu & Kashmir neutralized (sic).”Actor Akshay Kumar shared his feelings with a simple message: “Jai Hind. Jai Mahakaal!” Riteish Deshmukh wrote, “Jai Hind Ki Sena…Bharat Mata Ki Jai!” and Nimrat Kaur added, “United with our forces. One country. One mission.”What is Operation Sindoor?The Ministry of Defence announced on Wednesday morning that the Indian Armed Forces have launched a new mission called ‘Operation Sindoor’. This operation involved targeted attacks on nine terrorist camps located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. These places were believed to be key bases where attacks against India were being planned and managed.In its official statement, the Ministry said, “A little while ago, the Indian Armed Forces launched ‘OPERATION SINDOOR’, hitting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir from where terrorist attacks against India have been planned and directed. Altogether, nine (9) sites have been targeted.”The Ministry also said that the operation was carefully planned and carried out in a controlled way. “Our actions have been focused, measured and non-escalatory in nature. No Pakistani military facilities have been targeted. India has demonstrated considerable restraint in selection of targets and method of execution.”This mission was a direct answer to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April, where 25 Indian citizens and one Nepali tourist were killed. The Ministry added, “These steps come in the wake of the barbaric Pahalgam terrorist attack… We are living up to the commitment that those responsible for this attack will be held accountable.”
