Tata Altroz facelift teased for the first time: Design changes, launch date and more

Tata Motors is all set to launch the new and updated Tata Altroz facelift in the Indian market. This marks the first mid-cycle update for the popular premium hatchback since its launch in 2020. The new model is expected to be launched on May 4, 2025. Ahead of its launch, the company has released a new teaser showcasing its updated design and features. The hatchback will continue to rival the likes of Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Hyundai i20, with prices expected to begin from Rs 6.8 lakh (ex-showroom).

The new teaser reveals the significant changes made to the exterior design, new Altroz retains its split headlamp setup, now upgraded to full LED units, along with a new brow-shaped LED daytime running light signature and square-shaped main LED units. The front bumper has been redesigned with vertical fog lamp recesses and a revised grille. The overall silhouette remains the same, and the new model also gets flush-fitting illuminated door handles, further improving the aerodynamics.
At the rear, the Altroz features new LED tail lamps with a T-shaped motif connected by a full-width LED light bar. The updated rear bumper has a dual-tone finish for a sportier appearance. It also gets new alloy wheels with an EV-inspired design and it likely measures 16-inchs in dimensions. Other highlights include integrated spoiler, piano black finish, front and rear scuff plates and more.
While interior images have not been released, updates are anticipated to include a redesigned dashboard with soft-touch materials and new upholstery colour choices. A larger 10.25-inch touchscreen, currently limited to the Racer variant, is likely to be offered across more trims. The facelift will also feature a new digital instrument cluster, a 360-degree camera, a two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo and potentially six airbags as standard, enhancing safety and convenience.
The engine range is expected to remain same – a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel, along with a CNG variant using a twin-cylinder layout. Transmission options are expected to include a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed DCT, depending on the variant.
