Tata AutoComp Systems has announced its plans to acquire International Automotive Components Group Sweden AB (IAC Sweden). This move strengthens the Indian automotive component giant’s presence in Europe and deepens its ties with leading European OEMs across the passenger and commercial vehicle segments.
IAC Sweden, a manufacturer of interior systems and components, boasts a turnover of approximately $800 million. The acquisition, however, is subject to regulatory approvals in Europe. Tata AutoComp has not disclosed the financial details of the transaction but says that this strategic move will help consolidate its position as one of India’s largest automotive component manufacturers while reinforcing its presence in the European automotive sector.
Arvind Goel, Vice Chairman of Tata AutoComp Systems, stated, “This acquisition aligns with our long-term vision of expanding into global markets and strengthening our relationships with European OEMs”

With three advanced production facilities in Lassby, Fargelanda, and Skara, IAC Sweden employs approximately 1,500 skilled professionals and is a key supplier to leading automakers such as Volvo Cars, Volvo Trucks, and Scania. The company specializes in plastic molding, precision painting, and assembly of interior components – areas where Tata AutoComp sees strong synergy opportunities.
Tata AutoComp, a subsidiary of the Tata Group, has a strong foothold in the global auto components industry, catering to various segments, including passenger and commercial vehicles, electric mobility, two- and three-wheelers, tractors, and industrial applications. The company is also actively engaged in the development of next-generation EV components, positioning itself at the forefront of the electric mobility revolution.
