The National Testing Agency (NTA) is set to conduct the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) December 2025 session from December 31, 2025, to January 7, 2026, in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. Ahead of the examination, the agency has released key updates, including the city intimation slip and the subject-wise examination schedule, enabling candidates to plan travel, preparation, and exam-day logistics in advance.

UGC NET December 2025: Exam pattern

The examination will consist of two papers conducted in a single session:

  • Paper I: Teaching and research aptitude (50 questions)
  • Paper II: Subject-specific paper (100 questions)

There will be no break between the two papers.

Important instructions for candidates

Candidates appearing for the exam are advised to carefully follow the guidelines issued by NTA to avoid any last-minute issues on the exam day.

  • The UGC NET admit card is mandatory for entry into the examination centre.
  • Candidates must carry a valid original photo identity proof along with the admit card.
  • Electronic devices such as mobile phones, smart watches, calculators, as well as bags and study material, are strictly prohibited inside the exam hall.

Candidates are advised to stay updated through the official website, as all notices, corrections, and announcements related to UGC NET December 2025 will be released only by the National Testing Agency.
