The Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Department has officially postponed the start of the online registration process for the UP Junior Aided Teacher Recruitment 2025. Earlier scheduled to begin on 15 November 2025, the application window will now open on 24 November 2025. The recruitment drive aims to fill 1,894 vacancies across aided junior high schools, including 1,504 Assistant Teacher posts and 390 Headmaster positions. With the revised schedule now confirmed, candidates have additional time to prepare their documents and review eligibility criteria before applying.

These vacancies are spread across government-aided junior high schools in Uttar Pradesh. The recruitment aims to address staffing gaps and strengthen academic quality across the state’s foundational schooling system.

Revised application timeline

The department has issued a revised update confirming that the application portal, which was earlier expected to go live on 15 November, will now be activated on 24 November 2025. Applicants will still have until 5 December 2025 to complete the submission. The delay does not impact the rest of the recruitment calendar, including document verification and the preparation of the merit list. With the postponed registration window, the updated timeline is as follows:

Eligibility criteria for Assistant Teacher and Headmaster posts

As per the official notification released, applicants must fulfill the following eligibility requirements in order to register online:

Assistant Teacher

  • Graduation in any stream
  • BTC/D.El.Ed training from a recognised institution
  • Must have cleared UP Junior TET

Headmaster/Principal

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • B.Ed qualification
  • Minimum 5 years of teaching experience in a recognised school

Candidates must also meet domicile requirements as set by the Uttar Pradesh government, wherever applicable.
