UPPSC RO/ARO mains exam 2026: The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has announced the schedule for the Review Officer (RO) and Assistant Review Officer (ARO) Mains Examination 2023. As per the official notification, the examination will be conducted on January 31 and February 1, 2026.According to the commission, the first paper (General Studies) will be held on January 31, 2026, from 9:30 am to 11:30 am. The second paper, which will be held from 2 pm to 5 pm, will consist of two parts: a subjective test in General Hindi and Essay Writing from 2 pm to 4:30 pm, followed by an objective test on General Vocabulary and Grammar from 4:30 pm to 5 pm.On February 1, candidates will appear for the Hindi Essay paper from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, UPPSC Deputy Secretary Virendra Mani Tripathi confirmed.

UPPSC RO/ARO mains 2026: Exam pattern summary
The UPPSC RO/ARO Mains examination 2023 will consist of three papers conducted over two days:
- Paper 1 (General Studies): Objective-type paper conducted on January 31 from 9:30 am to 11:30 am.
- Paper 2 (General Hindi and Essay Writing): Subjective and objective sections conducted on January 31 from 2 pm to 5 pm.
- Paper 3 (Hindi Essay): Descriptive paper scheduled on February 1 from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm.
UPPSC RO/ARO prelims 2025: Exam overview
Earlier, the RO/ARO Preliminary examination 2023 was held on July 27, 2025, and the results were declared on September 16, 2025. A total of 7,509 candidates qualified for the Mains stage.Out of these,
- 6,093 candidates were shortlisted for 338 posts of RO.
- 1,386 candidates for 79 posts of ARO.
- 30 candidates for 2 posts of ARO (Accounts).
