Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line features revealed ahead of launch: 9 airbags, panoramic sunroof and more

Volkswagen India is all set to launch the new Tiguan R-Line SUV on April 14, 2025. The bookings for the new SUV are underway, interested customers can book it online or by visiting their nearest VW dealership. The booking amount is set at Rs 25,000 with deliveries expected to begin shortly after launch. Ahead of its official launch, the company has now revealed the features, safety and specifications.

12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system

In terms of features, the Tiguan R-Line features a 10.3-inch all-digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, connected car tech, multi-zone climate control, two wireless charging pads, multi-colour ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, IQ Light HD Matrix headlights, which can deploy 38,400 multi-pixel LEDs, massaging front seats, ventilated seats, a rotary controller with an inbuilt OLED screen and more.

Safety-wise, it gets nine airbags, a Level 2 ADAS with 21 features, a hill start assist, and hill descent control and it also gets Park Assist Plus which can park the SUV all by itself. Talking about the engine, it gets the same 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, turbo petrol engine with 190 PS of power and 320 nm torque. It comes paired with a 7-speed DSG gearbox, which sends power to all four wheels.

Rear design

Design wise, it’s based VW’s new design language and features a curvy design compared to the outgoing model, which has boxy dimensions and straight lines. This new design has helped VW to achieve a drag coefficient of 0.28 Cd (down from 0.33Cd). It also gets a thin LED strip that connects both headlights, and it also gets bigger air intakes with a huge black panel in the middle. At the rear, it gets an LED taillight with three individual LED clusters integrated into a black panel running across the tailgate. Other highlights include an R-line front grille, dual-tone alloy wheels, dual-tip exhaust outlets for a sportier stance and much more.
